Simon Daley

I am full-time freelance web designer. I have worked on a wide range of web design projects and online applications since 2009.

Specialising in what is broadly termed as front-end development, I work on behalf of various web design agencies in the UK. The work itself can be both for local clients or clients on the other side of the globe which ensures my job is never dull and always challenging and varied. I also take on the occasional solo project if it is something that captures my imagination.

I love creating a website from a blank canvas and working with the client to produce something truly unique, rather than a generic template. Please email me if you would like to discuss a web project of your own, my email is at the bottom of this page.

Net magazine

I was pleased to have some of my work featured in the June 2012 edition of Net magazine. The magazine is widely considered to be one of the industries leading authorities for web design and development and is available to buy in most newsagents both in the UK and America.

"I was keen to create something that was not only attractive, but also memorable. It was crucial to present the most pertinent information in a logical and easy to access manner."

Foghorn Conference
Foghorn Conference

The brief

Design a website for a web-related event. Think about the sort of information that people will be looking for on the homepage and how they can access it quickly and easily.

The solution

The goal from the beginning was to create something that was not only attractive, but memorable.

The Sage, Gateshead was chosen as the venue. The cities distinctive architecture was an integral part to the look and feel of the site. The purpose of the conference would be to help people improve their web design skills and promote entrepreneurialism in a fun and appealing way. The website needed to reflect the same values.
